Welcome to Government Polytechnic Garur, Bageshwar, Uttarakhand

Government Polytechnic Garur, Bageshwar was established in the year 2006 by the initiative of Department of Technical Education, Govt. of Uttarakhand with an aim to create opportunities for the youths of rural and far flung hilly areas of the state by imparting technical education to them for better career avenues. It is an approved institution by All India Council of Technical Education, Ministry of Education, New Delhi and affiliated to Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education, Roorkee, Uttarakhand.

At present the institute runs three year diploma programmes in Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering with a sanctioned intake of 30(+2 TFW) students in each stream by Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education, Roorkee against the approved intake of 30 students by AICTE, New Delhi. The institute is situated in the outskirts of beautiful Garur-Baijnath twin town of Katyur valley in a serene, picturesque and pollution free environment at Khaderiya. It is approximately 10 kms away from Kausani, a famous worldwide hill station of Uttarakhand state. Means of transport are available from Garur to the institute site near Khaderiya village at periodic interval. The institute is well equipped with state of the art lab equipments, computer lab, modern workshop, language lab, smart classrooms, library and other facilities. The campus of the institute is wi-fi enabled with 100 Mbps internet broadband connectivity.

The institute has an active Training & Placement cell which provides sound placement opportunities to our undergoing diploma students in various reputed engineering establishments viz. Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Mahindra & Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, J.K. Tyres, L&T, Hitachi etc. In addition to this, our diploma appearing and passout students get golden job opportunities in central and state government organizations viz.DMRC, Indian Railways, NTPC, THDC, BRO,UPCL, UJVNL, PTCUL, PWD etc.

Government Polytechnic Garur, Bageshwar was established by Department of Technical Education, Govt. of Uttarakhand with an aim to promote technical education to the aspiring youths of rural and remote hilly regions of the state for its socio economic development and to initiate an appropriate measures for curbing undue migration of local people from these areas to other places of the state or country.

The institute since its inception always strives to provide a conducive environment to its students to make them intellectually capable, innovative and entrepreneurial professionals in the existing technological arena. Govt. Polytechnic Garur also provides an educational training that promotes and emphasizes social awareness as well as development of professional skills among the students. We are in the pursuit of global standards of excellence in all our endeavours and we strive to aim at creating and imbibing all round personality development in our students professionally, socially and ethically.

We provide a congenial environment for the holistic growth and all round development of the students through suitably designed teaching & learning processes, periodic revision of curricula and induction of vibrant extra-curricular activities. We are determined to build close tie up and linkages with major industrial houses and enterprises for providing vocational training and employment opportunities to our students.
